Lynne Shackleford

Lynne Shackleford serves as the Director of Communications for the Spartanburg Academic Movement. Lynne has more than 17 years of experience as a journalist and most recently served as the Director of Development and Marketing at Habitat for Humanity of Spartanburg. 

With a deep interest in economic and workforce development through advancements in public education, Lynne loves the long-term system-building approach at SAM and the potential to positively impact the life outcomes of the next generation. Lynne’s primary focus at SAM is to support public awareness through all communications channels.

A lifelong resident of the Upstate, Lynne earned her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of South Carolina. She and her husband, Jon, are the proud parents of Clancy and Jaxson and two sweet pups, Bailey and Vinny. 

Lynne also serves as a trustee on the Cherokee County School Board and is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. 

Lynne has previously served as President of the Cherokee County Junior Woman’s Club where she was named the Outstanding Woman of the Year.
